All 10th and 11th graders in any Maui County public or private high school interested in developing their leadership skills, and having a great time in a camp environment, are invited to fill out an application for the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) Camp program.

Camp RYLA provides the opportunity for these students to participate in quality leadership training experiences and activities.  These activities will be led by dedicated Rotary Club volunteers who will guide the campers in understanding the principles of effective leadership.

Sponsored and chaperoned by the Rotary Clubs of Maui, those selected to participate in Camp RYLA will spend two days at Camp Maluhia in Maui where they will be led in developing a comprehensive view of leadership through an emphasis on team work, motivation and communication.

Up to 72 students will be selected to participate in this coed, overnight program which will be held beginning Friday afternoon January 28 through noon Sunday, January 30, 2011.

RYLA participants receive training from successful professionals, with special emphasis on understanding and appreciating what it takes to become an effective leader at home, at school, and in the community.
